The General Specification for Construction Scaffolds GB 55023-2022 is a mandatory national engineering specification formulated in the field of engineering construction in China, which will be implemented from October 1, 2022.
This specification integrates and replaces the mandatory provisions in multiple scaffold standards, such as the original “Safety Technical Specification for Construction Fastener type Steel Pipe Scaffolding” JGJ 130, “Safety Technical Specification for Construction Portal type Steel Pipe Scaffolding” JGJ 128, “Safety Technical Standard for Construction Socket type Pan buckle Steel Pipe Scaffolding” JGJ/T 231, etc.
It serves as the fundamental, overarching, and fallback standard for various scaffold safety technologies, aiming to build a unified, safe, and reliable scaffold technology system, comprehensively prevent mass casualties such as scaffold collapse and falling from heights, and ensure the safety of construction workers’ lives.
